Placement drives is a common
selection procedure employed by companies especially in IT for the selection of candidates for IT jobs. It is sometimes called a job fair if multiple companies are involved.
The placement drive is conducted by a company or a group of companies in a college or a common premise in association with another agency or under the guidance of the placement officer of that college. it may aso be called a job fair. A small fees may be charged for the drive/ job fair to cover the expenses incurred.
Usually final semester students are eligible for the selection in a placemnt drive. The placement drive may consist of different levels of tests. There may be a written test (as in the case of WIPRO, INFOSYS etc ) followed by an interview. some companies may also have a group discussion to sieve out candidates.
